Hello! I was just listening to your last podcast (I’m an iTunes subscriber—my podcast auto-downloads are you girls, This American Life, and Bill Simmons, so I am an arbiter of Great Taste) and thought of the time you talked about ValueTales— I thought I was the ONLY PERSON on earth still obsessed with them, so the relief at hearing that I’m not alone is enormous— and I am thrilled to tell you that they’re re-publishing some in a bindup:
http://www.amazon.com/ValueTales-Treasury-Stories-Growing-People/dp/1416998381/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1296511697&sr=1-1
I work in children’s books (though, sadly, not for the company that had the foresight to to bring these back into the public eye) so my knowing this is vaguely work-related, but really it’s because I’m still haunted by the cartoon depiction of AIDS in the Arthur Ashe ValueTale. After hearing you guys talk about ValueTales I called my mom to make sure she knew to never throw away my ValueTales, and she responded by mailing them all to me, which is why I love her. Did you know that the guy who invented ValueTales is the author of Who Moved My Cheese? AMAZING, right??
Anyway. You guys are effing rad and I love you. Please keep up all the excellent drunk podcast work you’re doing. A grateful nation thanks you.
CRISTIN
